The FedEx #BackingSmall Business Contest is an annual initiative by FedEx Express Canada designed to support and celebrate small businesses across the country.

Overview of the FedEx® #BackingSmall Business Contest program:

The contest is open to Canadian-based, for-profit small businesses that have been in continuous operation, selling a product or service, for at least six months prior to the contest's start date. Eligible businesses must have a valid FedEx shipping account in good standing and employ no more than 99 individuals, including owners and part-time staff. The initiative aims to recognize innovative and inspiring small businesses, offering them financial support to expand their reach and capabilities.

Eligibility criteria of the FedEx® #BackingSmall Business Contest program:
  • Be legal residents of Canada and have reached the age of majority in their province or territory.
  • Operate a for-profit business domiciled in Canada.
  • Have been in continuous operation, selling a product or service, for at least six months prior to the contest's start date.
  • Maintain a valid FedEx shipping account in good standing.
  • Employ no more than 99 individuals, including owners and part-time staff.
  • Ensure the business is active, lawful, and possesses all necessary licenses and registrations.
  • Not be affiliated with franchised or pyramid marketing business models, nor be a FedEx OnSite or Authorized ShipCentre location.
  • Not be under bankruptcy protection or have judicial liens or attachments.
