Overview of the Neighbourhood(s) Micro-Grant program:

The Neighbourhood(s) Micro-Grant is designed to empower residents, community groups, and local organizations to initiate projects that foster community engagement and address specific neighbourhood needs. Eligible projects include block parties, neighbourhood art installations, social, cultural, or recreational activities that are open to the public and offered at free or low cost. Applicants are encouraged to develop initiatives that align with at least one of the program's outcomes, such as enhancing community safety, increasing inclusion opportunities, celebrating Indigenous culture, or promoting beautiful and clean spaces.

Eligibility criteria of the Neighbourhood(s) Micro-Grant program:
  • Eligible applicants include:
  • Registered organizations (e.g., community leagues, condo boards, homeowner associations).
  • Registered charities.
  • Businesses and Business Improvement Areas (BIAs).
  • Event organizers partnering with a registered organization as a fiscal agent.
  • Applicants must demonstrate how their project aligns with at least one of the program's outcomes and ensure the initiative serves the geographic neighbourhood or community.
