Offered by the City of Brampton through the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (BEC), the Starter Company Plus Program is a provincially funded initiative designed to foster entrepreneurship and small business development. Targeted at individuals aged 18 and older, the program supports those who are launching a new business, growing an existing one, or purchasing a business within Brampton. Participants gain access to a combination of intensive business training, one-on-one advisory support, and mentorship from experienced professionals. The program also offers a grant of up to $5,000 for eligible and selected participants who successfully complete the program requirements, including a business plan, financial projections, and a final pitch presentation. Training sessions cover key areas such as business planning, marketing strategies, budgeting, and sales. The program is delivered in cohorts, and applicants must commit to attending all training modules and actively participate in the development of their business plan. This initiative plays a critical role in Brampton’s economic development strategy by empowering local entrepreneurs and strengthening the small business ecosystem.
