Overview of the Starter Company Plus Program - Halton program:

The Starter Company Plus Program is funded by the Government of Ontario and administered locally by the Halton Region Small Business Centre. The program is designed to support entrepreneurs aged 18 and older who are launching a new business, expanding an early-stage business (less than five years old), or purchasing an existing small business in Halton Region, which includes the municipalities of Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills. This program provides participants with access to a structured business training series, one-on-one advisory services, and the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $5,000. The training helps entrepreneurs gain critical skills in areas such as business planning, financial forecasting, marketing strategy, and operational management. All accepted applicants are expected to complete this training phase and then submit a comprehensive business plan and a two-year cash flow forecast. Participants who successfully complete the program may be invited to present a business pitch to a grant committee for consideration. If selected, they receive grant funding to support startup or growth-related business expenses. The program is highly competitive, with limited spaces per intake, and typically runs in spring and fall cohorts each year.
