Winter Together Grant

The Winter Together Grant supports Edmonton-based community groups and non-profits in hosting outdoor, inclusive, and locally focused winter events that bring people together during the colder months.
  • City of Edmonton
Overview of the Winter Together Grant program:

The Winter Together Grant is an initiative under WinterCity Edmonton, a strategy designed to embrace winter as a season of opportunity. This grant program encourages local organizations, businesses, and community groups to create vibrant, engaging, and inclusive winter events that help Edmontonians connect outdoors during the winter season. The goal is to support activities that align with the WinterCity Strategy pillars, such as enhancing winter life, improving winter design, promoting winter economy, and embracing winter culture. Funding is available for a wide range of events—from cultural celebrations and recreational activities to artistic performances and community gatherings—so long as they take place outdoors during winter and are accessible to diverse audiences. Events must occur between December 1, 2024, and March 21, 2025, and applicants must demonstrate how their project will contribute to building a sense of community, activate outdoor winter spaces, and highlight local creativity and inclusion. The program prioritizes projects that are free to attend, are held in publicly accessible spaces, and encourage participation from underrepresented or equity-deserving groups. The grant is competitive and reviewed based on criteria such as community impact, accessibility, alignment with WinterCity goals, and feasibility. Projects should include a clear budget and project plan. The program does not fund indoor-only events, private functions, or for-profit initiatives.
