The ICBF is designed to empower Indigenous participation in the cannabis industry by providing financial assistance and resources. It offers two primary funding streams: Community Planning and Engagement: Grants up to $12,000 for activities such as information workshops, community engagement sessions, and forums addressing cannabis-related topics. Business Planning, Design, and Capital: Grants up to $250,000 to support business planning, design, licensing, and capital expenditures necessary for establishing or expanding cannabis-related enterprises. Funding Amount Stream 1: Up to $12,000 for community planning and engagement initiatives. Stream 2: Up to $250,000 for business planning, design, licensing, and capital costs.

  • Indigenous Corporations, Partnerships, Associations, and Co-operatives: Business entities with at least 51% Indigenous ownership, proportionate to equity invested.
  • Individual Indigenous Entrepreneurs: First Nation, Metis, or Inuit individuals residing in British Columbia.
  • Applicants are expected to contribute to project costs, as grants are not intended to cover all expenses.
