The program supports Ontario-based artists and arts professionals who are Deaf and/or have a disability, as well as ad hoc groups, collectives, and arts organizations that are led by and dedicated to serving these artists or professionals.

Overview of the Deaf and Disability Arts Projects program:

The Ontario Arts Council’s Deaf and Disability Arts Projects program provides funding and support to individual Deaf artists and artists with disabilities, as well as collectives, ad hoc groups, and arts organizations led by these artists. The program’s goal is to support the creation, production, and presentation of art projects that contribute to the cultural landscape of Ontario. This initiative helps amplify the voices and talents of Deaf and disabled artists, allowing them to bring their projects to life and reach a broader audience.

  • Applicants: The program is open to:
  • Individual Deaf artists and artists with disabilities.
  • Deaf and disability arts collectives and ad hoc groups.
  • Arts organizations led by Deaf artists or artists with disabilities.
  • Eligible projects include artistic creation, development, production, and presentation of work in any artistic discipline (visual arts, performing arts, media arts, etc.).
