The Youth Small Business Program by Rise is a free, virtual 8-week program tailored to individuals aged 16 to 29 who are navigating mental health or addiction challenges and are ready to explore entrepreneurship. The program supports early-stage entrepreneurs who want to transform a business idea into a viable venture. Participants receive expert-led virtual business training sessions twice a week, where they learn the foundational aspects of starting and managing a business, including marketing, financial planning, and operations. Alongside this, participants are paired with dedicated mentors and business coaches who provide one-on-one guidance and support throughout the journey. The program culminates in a Pitch Showcase, where participants present their business ideas to a panel for a chance to win startup grants. The program not only delivers critical entrepreneurial skills but also fosters personal growth and confidence, especially for those facing barriers to employment due to mental health or addiction-related experiences. Each cohort is composed of a small group to ensure individualized attention. The program is designed to be inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed, recognizing the unique challenges and strengths of youth from diverse backgrounds. Participants emerge with a business plan, practical tools, and increased confidence to take the next steps toward launching a business.
