Overview of the FCC Women Entrepreneur Program program:

FCC is committed to empowering women in agriculture, agribusiness, and food. Through their research and discussions with women in agriculture, they discovered three key needs: increased access to capital to start or grow their business,& nbsp; access to business and competency skill development for themselves and their business, and & nbsp; access to tools, resources, and people to learn from and be inspired. Through the Women Entrepreneur Program, FCC has dedicated $500 million over the next three years to lending, enhancing events, and creating resources specifically for women entrepreneurs to start or grow their businesses. Through access to financing, and value-added offerings to expand their skill set and connections to people and organizations across the industry, FCC is helping ensure a diverse, open, and forward-thinking agriculture industry for everyone .& nbsp;

Benefits of the FCC Women Entrepreneur Program program:
  • Increased access to capital to start or grow their business, access to business and competency skill development for themselves and their business, and access to tools, resources, and people to learn from and be inspired.
  • One-time loan processing fee waiver for up to $1,000 throughout the lifetime of the program to invest in skill development that best suits the applicant's business needs.
Eligibility criteria of the FCC Women Entrepreneur Program program:
  • Women Entrepreneurs: The primary applicant must be a woman who is actively involved in the management or ownership of an agricultural business.
  • Agricultural Focus: The business must be within the agriculture sector, including farming, agribusiness, food production, or related industries.
  • Business Location: The business must be based in Canada and contribute to the Canadian agricultural industry.
  • Financial Viability: Applicants must demonstrate the financial viability of their business, including a solid business plan, financial statements, and the ability to repay the loan. The program is particularly interested in supporting businesses with growth potential.
  • Commitment to Business Development: Participants should show a commitment to growing their business and actively engage with the advisory services and resources provided by FCC.
