The Music Individual Project Funding program provides financial support to Alberta-based individual musicians and composers to pursue specific, time-bound music projects in creation, production, training, or research.
  • Alberta Foundation for the Arts
Overview of the Music Individual Project Funding program:

Administered by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA), this program supports Alberta-resident individual artists working in music and sound art. The program is designed to help individual artists complete discrete projects that contribute meaningfully to their professional development or artistic practice. Funded activities may include composing original music, producing recordings, presenting live performances, researching sound-based projects, or pursuing specialized training. Artists working in all music genres—including classical, jazz, pop, rock, traditional, and experimental—are eligible. Projects may involve solo work or collaboration, as long as the applicant is the lead and the primary focus is on their individual artistic growth. The funding is not intended to support ongoing operations, touring, or ensemble activities that are better suited to other programs
