Overview of the ParticipACTION Community Challenge Grant program:

The ParticipACTION Community Challenge is an annual event aiming to engage communities across Canada in physical activity and sport. In its 2025 edition, the program provides grants ranging from $500 to $1,500 to eligible organizations. The goal is to reduce barriers to participation and enhance activity opportunities for equity-denied groups, including Black, racialized, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, newcomers, low-income populations, persons with disabilities, and older adults. Funded programs must take place in Canada during June 2025, either partially or fully. Grant recipients are required to register their initiatives on the ParticipACTION Community Challenge webpage and track participation throughout the challenge. A mandatory post-challenge survey must also be completed to ensure future eligibility for funding. The grant prioritizes inclusivity and the promotion of safe, accessible, and equitable practices in sports and physical activities.
