Overview of the Small Business Start-Up Loans program:

Through the Small Business Start-Up Loans program, Affinity Credit Union provides business loans of up to $50,000 for business start-up or expansion by individuals and organizations in Saskatchewan. This program is meant to assist new entrepreneurs who may not be able to secure financing from conventional sources due to reasons such as their limited business history, low income level, weak credit history, and inability to provide collateral.

Benefits of the Small Business Start-Up Loans program:
  • Non-repayable contributions of up to $99,999 for First Nations individuals in Saskatchewan and up to $250,000 for community or band owned organizations. Applicant must come up with a minimum of a 10% equity contribution for the business or project being funded.
Eligibility criteria of the Small Business Start-Up Loans program:
  • Small business loans are available to individuals or organizations who:
  • Operate, or are about to operate, a business in Saskatchewan (including social enterprises)
  • Employ less than 50 employees and the annual total sales do not exceed $1 million
  • Have a convincing business plan, strong passion for your business idea and demonstrate commitment to success and loan repayment
