This C2C program funds dialogues, relationship-building activities, and the creation of agreements between First Nations and local governments to strengthen collaboration and address shared community issues. The forums provide a platform for discussing reconciliation, joint emergency management planning, community services, cultural preservation, and regional economic development. Eligible activities include cultural safety training, the development of service agreements, joint community or economic development plans, and climate change emergency response strategies. The program supports local initiatives that work towards reconciliation in alignment with the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
