The Cultural Industry Organizations Project Grant is a program offered by the Government of Alberta designed to support non-profit organizations within Alberta's cultural industries. The grant provides financial assistance for projects that contribute to the development, sustainability, and growth of the cultural industry sectors in Alberta. These sectors include film, television, digital media, book and magazine publishing, and sound recording.

Eligibility criteria of the Cultural Industry Organizations Project Grant program:
  • Eligible Organizations:
  • Organizations must be primarily engaged in the production of:
  • Books, eBooks
  • Magazines, eMagazines
  • Sound recordings
  • Film and video
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the appropriate legislation.
  • Must be based in Alberta.
  • Must be majority-owned by Alberta residents.
  • Eligible Book Publishers:
  • Must publish or plan to publish books that:
  • Are permanent-bound.
  • Contain at least 48 printed pages.
  • Are produced in editions of at least 500 copies.
  • Have at least 50% of printed copies eligible for sale.
  • EBook publishers must:
  • Make titles available through major online retailers.
  • Ensure eBooks are at least 48 pages of print equivalent.
  • Have at least 75% of all eBook titles for sale.
  • Eligible Magazine Publishers:
  • Must publish or plan to publish magazines that:
  • Are of literary, artistic, or childrens interest (minimum 500 copies in print).
  • Have editorial policies controlled by an editor or editorial board.
  • Maintain a policy where copyright for all published material resides with the author.
  • Clearly distinguish between editorial content and advertising, with sponsored content and supplements clearly identified.
  • Eligible Sound Recording Companies:
  • Must be involved in developing, producing, licensing, releasing, promoting, and distributing sound recordings.
  • Must own or have licensed the production copyright of the sound recording for each release.
  • Eligible Film Production Companies:
  • Must be primarily engaged in film and video productions for public viewing.
  • Must create or have created a production with a running time, or combined times, of at least 30 minutes.
  • Eligible Projects:
  • Projects must fall under one or more of the following categories:
  • Art production
  • Training and career development
  • Marketing
  • Research
