Overview of the Experience Ontario 2025 program:

Administered by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Gaming, Experience Ontario 2025 provides financial support to festivals and events that attract tourists, enhance Ontario’s profile, and generate economic benefits for local communities. The program funds events that offer innovative programming, engage community partnerships, and create job opportunities in the tourism, culture, and entertainment sectors. Eligible events must occur in Ontario over at least two consecutive days between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026. Funding is awarded based on event size and impact, with grants covering up to 50% of eligible expenses, including production, marketing, and accessibility improvements. Applications are competitive and assessed on criteria such as community impact, economic development, and organizational capacity​.

Eligibility criteria of the Experience Ontario 2025 program:
  • Eligible Applicants
  • Legal entities incorporated federally or provincially in Ontario.
  • Indigenous communities or service providers.
  • Established organizations with a presence in Ontario since January 1, 2024, or earlier.
  • Eligible Events
  • In-person events held over at least two consecutive days (exceptions for Canada Day).
  • Must attract at least 30% tourists or 5,000 tourist attendees.
  • Must comply with municipal and provincial guidelines.
