The Annual Programming Grant offered by the Edmonton Arts Council (EAC) provides flexible funding to support non-profit organizations in Edmonton.

Overview of the Programming program:

The Annual Programming Grant is designed to assist non-profit organizations in delivering consistent and impactful arts programming within Edmonton. Eligible activities encompass a broad spectrum of art-based endeavors, such as: Artistic Creation: Development of new artistic works across various disciplines. Production: Execution of artistic projects, including performances, exhibitions, and other presentations. Presentation: Showcasing artistic works to the public, enhancing community engagement. Sector Support: Initiatives that bolster specific artistic disciplines or sectors within Edmonton's arts community. Active Participation Promotion: Programs that encourage public involvement in art-making activities. Organizations may apply for either Operating or Programming investments in a given year, but not both. The grant aims to provide sustained support, ensuring that arts organizations can maintain and develop their programming to contribute to Edmonton's vibrant cultural landscape.

Eligibility criteria of the Programming program:
  • Eligible organizations must:
  • Be a registered non-profit entity.
  • Undertake specific art-based activities such as artistic creation, production, presentation, support of sectors or artistic disciplines in the Edmonton arts community, or promotion of active participation in art-making.
  • Conduct these arts activities on a regular, recurring basis within the City of Edmonton or specified surrounding Indigenous communities.
  • Maintain an organizational profile in the Edmonton Arts Council's online portal.
  • Ineligible organizations include those that:
  • Receive Operating support from the EAC (organizations may apply to either Operating or Programming funding in a given year, not both).
  • Focus on activities related to education, religious outcomes, competitions, demonstrations, street markets, capital construction development, or fundraising.
  • Are receiving operating funds from the City of Edmonton or a civic agency.
  • Are in arrears with the City of Edmonton or have overdue EAC reports.
