The Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit (SBVCTC) program offered by the Government of Manitoba is designed to encourage private investment in small businesses within the province. Benefits of the Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit program:
  • Up to 45% in tax credits to individuals and corporations who acquire equity capital in eligible Manitoba enterprises.
Eligibility criteria of the Small Business Venture Capital Tax Credit program:
  • Privately Held Small Businesses:
  • The business must be privately owned and operated, not publicly traded on any stock exchange.
  • Manitoba-Based Businesses:
  • The business must be headquartered in Manitoba and conduct the majority of its business activities within the province.
  • Growth-Oriented Companies:
  • Eligible businesses are generally those focused on growth and expansion. This includes companies looking to scale their operations, enter new markets, or develop new products or services.
  • Fewer than 100 Employees:
  • The business must have fewer than 100 full-time employees at the time of application.
  • Sectors Commonly Eligible:
  • While the program is open to various sectors, businesses in the following areas are often eligible:
