Conduct community needs assessments
Determine the scope of health issues in Saskatchewan
Plan next steps for moving from pilot to full implementation
Identify and align with existing initiatives to reduce duplication
Connect with Saskatchewan stakeholders (e.g., patient groups, community organizations, decision-makers)
Engage in culturally appropriate relationship building
Eligibility criteria of the Align Grant program:
To qualify for the Align Grant, applications must meet these three objectives:
Increase Research Relevance and Impact:
Build strong interdisciplinary research teams, including members from outside academia.
Fund activities that tailor research to fit Saskatchewans unique needs.
Boost Funding Success:
Enhance the quality and success of Saskatchewans applications to regional, national, and international peer-reviewed funding competitions, as well as to SHRF.
Develop Research and Professional Skills:
Provide opportunities for trainees to gain experience in team building, stakeholder engagement, and co-developing research questions.
Support skill development in research and professional areas related to the proposed activities.
Principal Applicant Requirements
The Principal Applicant must meet the criteria outlined in the SHRF Funding Guide.
Team Requirements
Include at least one Saskatchewan-based trainee as personnel or a co-applicant with clear roles and responsibilities.
Teams are not required to include knowledge-users (stakeholders outside academia).
