  • Ontario Creates
Overview of the IDM Fund: Discoverability and Commercialization Program program:

Ontario Creates' Discoverability and Commercialization stream under the Interactive Digital Media (IDM) Fund is designed to help Ontario digital media companies successfully market and promote their original, interactive content to both domestic and international audiences. This program supports activities that raise visibility, generate revenue, and increase user acquisition for interactive digital media projects that are already developed and market-ready. Eligible projects include video games, e-learning tools, XR (AR/VR) content, web series, mobile applications, and other original interactive content primarily intended for consumer use. Funding is provided to execute business strategies, including marketing campaigns, sales presentations, participation in industry events, and optimization for monetization. Emphasis is placed on supporting companies in targeting discoverability challenges and positioning their products effectively in competitive markets. Applicants are required to have a project with commercial potential and a clear marketing or sales plan. The program prioritizes Ontario companies with strong ownership and control structures, and particularly encourages participation from companies led by equity-deserving communities. The fund is designed to complement existing development or production support by helping projects cross the finish line in terms of visibility and audience engagement. It also supports companies in building global relationships and reaching export markets. Applicants may use the funds for consulting services, software, platform fees, promotional materials, and attendance at strategic events.
