Music Production and Presentation Projects

This program supports the development and presentation of all genres of live and virtual music by Ontario-based professional musicians, ad hoc groups, collectives and organizations.

The Ontario Arts Council’s Music Production and Presentation Projects program provides grants to support professional musicians, composers, and organizations in Ontario. This program helps fund various music production and presentation activities, including recording, touring, marketing, and live performances. It is aimed at fostering the growth of Ontario’s music scene by supporting both emerging and established artists and music organizations.

Eligibility criteria of the Music Production and Presentation Projects program:
  • Location:
  • Applicants must be residents of Ontario or organizations based in Ontario.
  • Who is Eligible:
  • Individual Artists: Professional musicians, composers, and conductors with a track record of artistic production.
  • Music Organizations: Not-for-profit organizations or collectives that produce music events, recordings, or other related activities.
  • Ensembles and Bands: Professional music groups that are Ontario-based.
  • Ad Hoc Groups and Collectives: Not-for-profit bands, ensembles, orchestras, opera companies, choirs, and festivals. Most members must be professional musicians, except for community orchestras and choirs led by a professional.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Applicants must demonstrate artistic merit, professional experience, and a clear project plan.
  • Applicants must not have outstanding final reports for previous OAC grants.
  • Music projects should contribute to the music ecosystem in Ontario.
