Eligibility criteria of the Starter Company Plus Program - IDEA Mississauga program:
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be a resident of Ontario and legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Be starting, growing, or buying a business located in Mississauga
  • Not be currently enrolled in full-time education
  • Be able to commit full-time to operating the business
  • Have a business that is less than 5 years old (if existing)
  • Not have received the Starter Company Plus grant before
  • Not be part of another provincial entrepreneurial training program in the last 12 months
  • Attend all mandatory training sessions and commit to the full program duration
  • Submit a complete business plan and 2-year financial forecast
  • Be ready to pitch the business to a panel for grant consideration
  • Provide matching funds, with at least $2,500 in cash, and the rest in-kind assets
