Overview of the The Bold Spirit Awards program:

The BOLD SPIRIT Awards, an initiative by Business in the Streets (BITS), is designed to recognize and financially empower young entrepreneurs aged 18–34 who have shown exceptional determination, creativity, and leadership in building their businesses. This award focuses on individuals who have overcome personal and professional challenges to pursue entrepreneurship, while uplifting their communities through innovative business ideas. The program offers a $5,000 grant to three recipients annually. It is not merely about business success, but about celebrating the spirit and journey of entrepreneurship—particularly for those from underserved or marginalized communities. The selection process places heavy emphasis on personal story, resilience, and social impact. Applicants are asked to submit a written application, a 2-minute video describing their journey and business, and proof of their business's registration or operation in Canada. Finalists are selected based on their vision, grit, and how their business positively influences the broader community.
