Climate-Ready Plans and Processes

The Local Leadership for Climate Adaptation (LLCA) initiative, through the Climate-Ready Plans and Processes (CRPP) stream, supports municipalities and their partners across Canada in developing strategies and implementing actions to address climate change impacts, such as rising sea levels, wildfires, and floods.

Overview of the Climate-Ready Plans and Processes program:

The LLCA-CRPP program provides grant funding and capacity development to help communities prepare for and adapt to the impacts of climate change. Projects can range from creating climate adaptation strategies to implementing resilience measures in municipal systems. The program emphasizes equitable and inclusive adaptation planning, encouraging collaboration with Indigenous communities, small municipalities, and equity-deserving groups. Eligible activities include climate risk assessments, adaptation plans, hazard mapping, and resilience-focused community engagement. Successful applicants receive tailored funding and expert guidance to enhance their adaptation planning processes and achieve measurable outcomes.

  • Include a municipal resolution supporting the project.
