SENIORS ACTIVE LIVING CENTRES PROGRAM

The Seniors Active Living Centres (SALC) Program supports organizations in Ontario to deliver programs promoting active and healthy living, social engagement, and lifelong learning for seniors, addressing their needs while fostering community connections.
  • Government of Ontario
Overview of the SENIORS ACTIVE LIVING CENTRES PROGRAM program:

The SALC Program, funded by the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility (MSAA), addresses the challenges of Ontario’s aging population by supporting organizations in delivering tailored programs for seniors. Programs are designed to improve physical and mental health, reduce social isolation, and provide referrals to other community services. Operators offer diverse activities, including health and wellness workshops, arts, dining, transportation services, and remote programs to reach underserved populations. The program aims to enhance seniors’ quality of life and community involvement. For 2025-26, a new regulation allows broader participation from funding partners, such as Indigenous organizations and not-for-profits, to expand the program's reach.

  • Offers diverse activities like fitness classes, educational workshops, and arts programs.
